1. This weekend is my CD Release Party in my hometown! If you're around Lafayette, be sure to stop by O'Bryan's Nine Irish Brothers' Pub from 5-8pm on Sunday, Feb 27th! 2. Speaking of my CD Release Party, I realized this week that I scheduled it right before the Academy Awards on Sunday! Okay, I just heard a collective gasp from my close friends.. Here's why: I don't know how to say this enough, but The Oscars. Are the highlight. Of my year. It's my superbowl, it's my Olympics, it's the birth of my bouncing baby celebrity. Every year I write the date of the Oscars in my calendar. NOTHING gets in the way of this day.. I buy wine and cheese, I sit with close friends (ie - the people who won't talk too much or ask, "So, now.. who is that?") and I critique the dresses, guess the winners and cry at the speeches. Needless to say, I forgot to write the date in this year. (Sigh) I will be TiVo-ing the red carpet and will be flying home the second my party is over. "Thanks for coming, good to see ya, BUH-BYE!"

3. I read The Pioneer Woman's new book, "Black Heels to Tractor Wheels" in record time.. I got it at 5pm on Tuesday and by 8pm, I was done! Astonishing? Yes. Lame? Maybe. But True. :) It's a great read -- you should get it!

4. Downton Abbey. Netflix. Watch it. Believe me, I have the best taste in movies (see #2 above); it's a fact. You must watch this 7-part series immediately! But teach your kids how to pour themselves a bowl of cereal or something first. Cuz you won't be able to pull yourself away.. For realsies.

5. I'm a leg wax girl. Not all the time. Not when I'm feeling whimpy. And definitely not when someone is within ear shot.. My whimpering ain't purdy! But I'll admit -- I will forgo any form of dignity to acheive the gleaming smoothness of a freshly waxed leg. Preferably two. And I'm not afraid to say it! But today, while in line at "The Walgreens" with a box of my favorite wax, the lady at the cash register crossed the line. She asked, loud and in the company of many, "Ooh.. I've never tried this. Now, do you wax your own bikini line?" I could feel my eyes widen, my jaw drop and whispered, "Uh.. Um.. No." Unencumbered, she went on, even louder, "Oh.... So, then you have your boyfriend do it?"

6. I got a new phone. Mostly because it was free, but also because I could do this on it:



7. And finally, congrats to my dear friend Michaela! She just got engaged to her lovely man, Mark and I screamed and jumped up and down when she asked me to be her maid of honor!! We've been chatting a lot about the wedding details and I am so excited! My other BFF, Rita, will be getting married a couple months before, and Mikey and I are busy planning her Bachelorette.. And I was on the phone with Laura when MaryGrace peed in the potty for the first time! (Sigh) What an exciting, blessed year! :)
